damaged book or machine?

I have the new digital player which is the basic one. This morning, I was reading a digital book; it actually skipped from chapter 3 to the end of book. I was surprised by this. Is there a policy for sending back a damaged digital book, or is my machine damaged? I have had the player for a few months now and never had this happen before. Anybody else?

You might want to look at the frequently asked questions section of bardtalk.com or join their email list at bardtalk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Otherwise just wait and see if it happens again to determine if it is the book or the machine. Have you gone back to the beginning of the book to see if it happens again in the same spot? If it does, it's probably a problem with the book.

I did go to the beginning of the book and the same thing happened. I thought this digital book deal was fool proof and nothing could happen to the books. Guess not.

Nothing in the world is foolproof. But I'm sure the cartridges will not have problems nearly as often as the tapes did.

We have such engenius fools these days that is why it's so hard to fool proof anything. ;)
Try with a different digital book and see if it behaves as expect, if it toes it is most likely the book itself. If it does not the player might be at fault.

Yeah, my digital player doesn't like to work with my USB. So, I'll have to figure out what's up with that.
